On the winter solstice, we experience the shortest day and the longest night of the year. We say goodbye to the old year and celebrate the return of light and the sun.
Together we ignite our inner fire with 108 sun salutations and usher in the turning point of the year.
The sun salutation is one of the oldest series of exercises in yoga. We combine movement and breathing and thus enter into a moving meditation in which we purify body, mind and soul. 108 is not a number like any other. We encounter it in astronomy, architecture, physics and, of course, in yoga. The 108 is a sacred number and symbolizes that everything is one.
With the traditional 108 sun salutations, we let go of the old and create space for the new. The mind becomes still while the breath carries you through the movement. We flow into strength, gratitude and connection and finish with stretching, reflection and Shavasana.
